The Scooter, trim and youthful, is something totally different. Designed by long time Futon designer, Pete Dodge, the Scooter is a culmination of sorts – the culmination a long career spent solving those wonderfully twisted puzzles of futon logic. And look at the result! Now if only he’d put that genius into software development …

First let me tell you, the Scooter scoots! Yes it picks up and rolls… just like a wheelbarrow. You just roll it into your desired position, depending on your night or day use.

I love that. We all know that how and where you want your futon, as a bed, is rarely how and where you want it as a sofa. And it is easy to do, it’s so well balanced even a kid can scoot it.

Second, the Scooter is a floor-hugger (that’s futon lingo). Everything about the Scooter interacts with the floor. You lift, and the Scooter and the floor do everything else. The back leg or ‘Prop’ engages with the floor to become the bed support. At the same time the Prop automatically releases the sofa from the locked position. Come back up from bed position and the Prop puts itself back into place, and it puts the sofa back in locked position. Wow.

The Scooter’s Operating System is Shoe Fittings™, using the Snapper™, so you know conversion and assembly are a ‘snap’.

Best of all the Scooter just looks so good – an American beauty!
